Münstermann has delivered a fiber collecting drum for tube shells to a customer in the USA. The drum was part of a capacity expansion. The drum is a unit with 4 belts on all side walls (see pictures above).
Improvements to the old drums
Compared to the fiber collecting drums already supplied, the service life of the actual drum was improved in the current project. In the design specified by the customer cracks appeared between the webs of the perforated plates after a few months, whereupon all the drums were replaced by Münstermann. In order to eliminate the problem, the new perforated plates were modified with regard to the hole pitch in the area of the support rollers. The new units are also even more compact and easily adaptable due to their design.
For the new fiber collection drums supplied for the capacity expansions, the changes were implemented from the beginning.
