In recent years, Isover and Münstermann have worked together successfully in the field of advanced curing oven technology. Münstermann currently produced a cooling zone and a curing oven for the plant in Billesholm in the south of Sweden.

Billesholm - a factory with a special mission

At the Isover plant in Billesholm, Ecophon boards are made of glass wool, which are mainly used as ceiling tiles. Due to high demand, the curing plant is being renewed in Swedish production. Uniform surfaces and evenness places great demands on the end product and thus also on the curing oven supplied by Münstermann and the newly developed cooling zone.

Cooling after curing

The cooling zone serves as a supplement to a new curing oven, which is also supplied by Münstermann. The cooling zone reduces the product temperature of the mineral wool from 200 to 60 °C so that the panels can be processed in the following packaging line.

Essential technical features

In recent years, Münstermann Isovers has been the preferred choice for several prestigious projects requiring a high degree of design and manufacturing know-how. Münstermann has developed some interesting technical solutions for the cooling zone. Special emphasis was placed on automation. Thus, the cooling zone has an automatic adjustment of the lateral seals. For process monitoring, an infrared and a differential pressure measurement is implemented.

In order to increase process reliability, the roller conveyor for conveying the glass wool is equipped with a double-sided chain drive and a water spray device in the suction box is provided for removing glass wool residues.
