After installation of a de-dusting unit for the processing of furan sand a further two units for Plant II of the Hulvershorn Steel Foundry in Bocholt were supplied

The special attraction of this project was the fact that the new foundry was, so to speak, erected on the green field. This meant that Münstermann’s (now NEOTECHNIK) engineers had a high degree of freedom regarding the design of the unit and the piping systems. On account of the high restrictions on the residue dust the most modern processes were used.

Two de-dusting units including accessories, piping and assembly were supplied. The first unit (70,000 m³/hour at 5 mg/m³) serves to reclaim furan sand and the cleansing of the gases. In the second unit (40,000 m³/hour at 10 mg/m³) two electro-smelting furnaces were de-dusted. The special point about this furnace is a pre-connected spark separator.

Both units are fitted with level sensors which report a possible overfilling of the conveyor chute or the substructure to the central control room. The dust or the reclaimed furan sand is collected in big bags.
