Curing oven for fibre glass pipe insulation

Recently designed and developed curing oven for fibre glass pipe insulation: the oven is very compactly built.
Recently designed and developed curing oven for fibre glass pipe insulation: the oven is very compactly built.

The production of curing ovens is one of Münstermann’s core competences. Along with the well-known glass wool plates tube frames are also produced from this insulating material. Heating pipes can be insulated with these tube frames.

Standard curing ovens for tube frames are designed as continuous flow ovens. The tube frames are produced in the right shape in a specially designed fibre forming section, are mixed with a binder and then cured in the oven. Münstermann has developed a concept in which a revolving drum replaces the continuous flow curing oven. The individual tube frames are placed automatically onto nozzle pipes out of which streams the hot air which cures the binder and are removed again. The advantage of the new oven lies in the small, compact design still maintaining the same output (approx. 8 to 9 seconds per pipe sleeve. The space-saving design makes an improved insulation and sealing of the oven possible which becomes more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

In the section the drum can be seen. The tube frames are placed onto the nozzle pipes and cured.

The new oven concept was developed in cooperation with the company Kaibel and Sieber (http://www.kaibel-sieber.de). Kaibel and Sieber produce machines amongst other things for the manufacture and processing of insulation products made from glass wool and rock wool.
