Innovation Prize Münsterland 2009 awarded to Münstermann
With the Innovation Prize Münsterland – conferred annually since 1993 – the Münsterland Association awards companies in the region, which have developed and implemented special forward-looking ideas. Under the heading of ‘Cooperation between commerce and science’ Münstermann was honoured for its innovative excellence on 19th November 2009.
Improved production processes of carbon fibres
The company Münstermann and Prof. Dr. Hans-Arno Jantzen from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Applied Sciences, Münster were given an award for a joint project concerning flow simulation. The result of this teamwork was the improved drying process and the benefits on the drying unit itself. This precise project concerned a dryer for the production of carbon fibres. The company Münstermann and Prof. Jantzen were awarded the prestigious Seifriz Prize for this collaboration.
Cooperation with research institutes – not only in technical matters
In the course of this the cooperation was not only limited to technical matters. A current joint project concerning strategic marketing with Prof. Dr. Thomas Baaken from the Business Studies Department at the University of Applied Sciences, Münster shows that Münstermann does not only technicalyl have a grasp of contemporary developments. 15 students currently doing a Master’s course are examining suitable strategies for market entry to interesting countries for Münstermann within the framework of a project.
