Filter and de-dusting technology

Application and selection of the filter media

A very important point for an efficiently functioning filter equipment is the correct selection of the filter media. First of all, allocation of the filter media to the de-dusting systems has to be observed. For de-dusting systems with contra-flushing and contra-flushing including vibration filter media with a higher air permeability value can be used (180-200 litres/dm2/min at a vacuum of 20 daPa).

You will find detailed information about the filter and de-dusting solutions from Münstermann and NEOTECHNIK on a combined website: http://www.mn-filtration.com

For Jet de-dusting, air permeability of the filter medium must not exceed certain values as otherwise dust penetration may occur in surges during the de-dusting operation (140 litres/dm2/min at a vacuum of 20 daPa).

Allocation of the filter media

  • Another important criterion for the correct selection of the filter media is the process-related factors, such as gas temperature, oil mist, exhaust vapours, explosive dusts, etc.
  • A wide range of finishes is available with the filter media e.g. surface treatment by calendering, applied filter diaphragms, metal filament finish for earthing hoses for explosive dusts.

Filter media, which have been bought incorrectly once or twice for albeit interesting prices, turn out in the long run to be considerably more expensive than a slightly more expensive, but correctly supplied filter medium, i.e., that the correct selection of filter media can save experts money and much irritation.
